| Department of Commerce | PURPOSE: CLIMATE DATA AND INFORMATION DEVELOPED AND MAINTAINED AT NOAA'S NATIONAL CENTERS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION (NCEI) ARE CRITICAL FOR UNDERSTANDING EARTH'S CHANGING CLIMATE AND HELPING TO MAKE THE NATION CLIMATE READY. THE SHEER VOLUME OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE AND THE FORMATS USED TO ARCHIVE THAT INFORMATION DO NOT LEAD TO EASY USE OF THE INFORMATION BY INDUSTRY. THROUGH THE INFLATION REDUCTION ACT, INDUSTRY PROVING GROUNDS, NOAA IS COMMITTED TO RADICALLY IMPROVING ITS DELIVERY OF CLIMATE DATA AND INFORMATION TO PRIVATE SECTOR INDUSTRY. THE COOPERATIVE INSTITUTE FOR SATELLITE EARTH SYSTEM STUDIES (CISESS) HAS DEVELOPED A PROTOTYPE CLIMATE HUB FOR ANALYTICAL RESEARCH AND MONITORING (CHARM). THIS HUB WILL DELIVER INFORMATION ACCESS AND TOOLS TO INFORM DATA-DRIVEN DECISIONS, LEVERAGING NCEI'S MULTI-PETABYTE DATA HOLDINGS. THE INFORMATION VISUALIZATION AND DELIVERY HUB PROVIDES, OR WILL PROVIDE, CERTAIN FUNCTIONS AND CAPABILITIES NCEI WOULD LIKE TO BUILD UPON TO BETTER DELIVER CLIMATE INFORMATION TO MEET IPG GOALS, ALL CENTERED AROUND USER-CENTRIC DESIGN AND ENHANCING THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.
